Why Join the Network?
The Principle of Ujima: Collective Work and Responsibility
Ujima means to build and maintain our community together and make our brothers' and sisters' problems our problems and solve them together. That’s what we aim to accomplish with the Network. Together, we can promote access, justice, and health within our communities by providing the tools and resources needed to create community-oriented solutions to alleviate the barriers Black Californians face in their everyday lives.
The Black Health Network will be a community for us, by us, and a space that we are in control of, where we can set our own agenda. A place where we can harness our collective power to tackle the nonprofit community’s most common challenges:
Let’s harness our collective voice, our collective passion, and our collective power in order to drive equitable systems change so that we can achieve health equity for Black Californians!
